Who we are
JustYourFiles is operated by Applied Ego Software LLC (trading as Applied Ego; "we", "us").
Your files
Files you send go directly from your browser to the browser of each person who opens your link, over an encrypted WebRTC connection. They are never uploaded to or stored on our servers, and we never see their contents or names. A link works only while the sender's page is open.
Connecting the two browsers
To find each other, both browsers briefly use a connection (signaling) server, which sees their IP addresses and the random code in the link, but not the files or their names. Public STUN servers run by Google and Cloudflare tell each browser its public IP address. On networks that block direct connections, the encrypted transfer may pass through a relay (TURN) server, run by us or by Cloudflare, which cannot read it. These services keep the short-lived technical logs any internet service keeps.
Downloads
In some browsers a small script from our own site (a service worker) passes the arriving file to your browser's downloads as it streams in. It runs only on your device and sends nothing anywhere.
Reports
If you report files as breaking our terms, we receive the code in the link, the reason you picked and any note you write, along with your IP address. We use it only to deal with abuse. We never receive the files or their names.
Our Discord bot
If you use /send in Discord, our bot posts in that channel your Discord name, how many files you're sharing, their total size, whether there's a password and the link, and edits the post when you stop sharing. To do that, Discord sends us your Discord user ID and the channel's ID and name. We don't keep them: they travel only inside the signed button and the page you open from it. We never receive the files or their names. Discord's own privacy policy covers Discord.
Passwords
A password you set is checked by the sender's browser. It is sent only over the encrypted connection between the two browsers and is never sent to or stored by us.
Advertising
Free pages show ads from third-party networks such as Carbon Ads, EthicalAds or Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Visitors in regions that require consent will be asked before personalized ads load.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and tools people use, so we can improve the site. It uses first-party cookies and receives your IP address, which Google uses to estimate your country and city and does not store. We don't send it anything you type, upload or calculate. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you agree to them; until then Google receives only cookieless measurements. You can opt out anywhere with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
